Item Description

The ninja arose from Japanese history and is also known as "shinobi. The first account of a Ninja's existence was during the 14th century of feudal Japanese history. Specially trained in assassination, illusion, and espionage, the Ninja's Japanese name, Shinobi, fits with that description, originally meaning "to steal away." Furthermore, to practice Ninjutsu means to practice "the art of stealth."

Ninja Grappling Hook

Also known as the kaginawa or kagi nawa, the ninja grappling hook was a climbing tool consisting of 4 pronged hooks with a long stretch of rope. Commonly used by the ancient ninjas to scale walls or to swing across large gaps, the ninja grappling hook could also be used as a weapon. The hooks could be swung above the head and the rope could be used to strangle the opponent. Also, the ninja grappling hook had other military uses such as removing obstacles. As its name implies, this ninja gear can be used to grab an item from a distance and drag it back to you. Can be used with the ninja hand claw and ninja foot claw for the ultimate climbing set.

Ninja Hand Claws

Also known as shuko and ashiko, the ninja often wore this ninja hand claw as climbing aids. The trained ninja could then scale a wall or climb a tree within seconds. The Japanese even had a saying that the ninja could "climb like a bear." The ninja shuko hand claws were the traditional ninja climbing tools designed to be worn over the palm, and aided in activities mentioned above along with ice-walking.

Ninja Foot Spikes

The ninja often had to be ready to traverse over any and all terrain. These metal strips with a spiked edge were tied to the bottom of the Ninja's tabi boots in order to gain better grip over rough or slippery terrain. If you think of today's athletes, this would correspond to their spike shoes. Also known as ninja ashiko foot spikes, this traditional ninja climbing tool also aided in climbing, scaling and ice-walking. Often used with the shuko ninja hand claws, the ninja foot spikes are made of black heavy-duty steel, and comes with laced closure to be secured under the ninja tabi boots.
